80 Graham Avenue, Brooklyn
Master of Ceremony:
Provided by Shawnti Leigh and Alfred Perez de Tagle, Co-founders of RISE Radio (57 Graham Ave.) a café, bar and community space who will also be the DJ’s for the day.
The fiesta event will bring to our stage a number of musical performances from schools throughout the neighborhood –
Dance and a piano recital by the students of PS 257, and a Mariachi performance by the Academia de Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer. Additional performances by a number of other local groups are also featured in the program for the day, including El Ballet Folklorico Xiomara Cabrera dance group and the salsa band, Conjunto Imagen, which is headlining the event and promises to bring out all of our Brooklyn neighbors.
The event will also help the Graham Avenue BID launch its “Get It @ Graham” local shopping campaign, which introduces its Get It @ Graham Community Gift Card program, with a growing list of participating restaurants and retail merchants, including those of the Moore Street Market (La Marqueta). Because everyone knows that when you “Get it at Graham, you get Moore.”
This unique e-Gift card programs allows individuals and companies to send individuals gift cards, which can only be redeemed at participating merchant locations and encourages local, in-person shopping. These cards cannot be used for online shopping or at shops outside of the Graham Avenue commercial district. This assures that the money spent stays local and helps build community. The program is powered by technology firm Yiftee.com
(Yiftee – Keep Local Dollars Local, https://www.yiftee.com )
This event is part of our continuing work to make Graham Avenue the preferred place to shop local, while helping the businesses along the Graham Avenue commercial district step out of the shadow of the COVID pandemic.
